Two-Step Verification for Team Members
What is two-step verification?
Two-step verification (2SV) adds an extra layer of security to your account. In addition to your password, you'll need a verification code from an authentication app to log in. This helps prevent unauthorised access, even if someone gets hold of your password.
Enforce two-step verification for your team
Users with the Owner role can require all team members to use two-step verification. Once enabled:
- Existing users will be prompted to set up two-step verification the next time they log in.
- New users will be asked to enable two-step verification after setting their password.
To do this, go the Security tab on the Team page and select Require that team members use two-step verification.
Two-step verification for individual users
Even if the Owner hasn't enforced two-step verification for the entire team, individual team members can still enable it for their own accounts.
To do this, click or tap on your name in the top right corner of the screen and select Set up two-step verification.
Reset a two-step verification token for a team member
If a user loses access to their two-step verification token, Owner users can reset it for them. This allows the user to set up two-step verification again from scratch.
To do this, click or tap the three dots next to a team member’s name and select Reset two-step verification.
If an Owner user loses access to their token, they should contact Easol Support to reset it.
View if team members enabled two-step verification
An an Owner, you can see which of your team members enabled two-step verification on the Team page.
How to set up two-step verification
To set up two-step verification, you’ll need an authentication app. Here are some recommended options:
- Google Authenticator (Google Play Store | App Store)
- Microsoft Authenticator (Google Play Store | App Store)
Alternatively, two-step verification codes can also be stored in a password manager that supports one-time passcodes for added convenience.
When setting up two-step verification, a QR code will appear on-screen. You’ll need to scan this QR code using your authentication app or import it into your password manager. Once scanned, the app or password manager will generate a one-time code. Enter this code to complete the setup process.
Two-step verification helps keep your team’s accounts secure. We recommend keeping it enabled to add an extra layer of protection to your platform access.
