Configure your domain on GoDaddy
How to connect your domain on GoDaddy to Easol
Before you begin, login to your GoDaddy account, find the domain you want to point to your site on Easol and go to DNS (domain name system). Make sure that your DNS is using GoDaddy's default nameservers.
Create new CNAME record
In your domain's DNS, click Add and create a new CNAME record with the following settings:
Host Name | www |
Type | CNAME |
Value | ssl.myeasol.com. |
Now press save and you should see your new configuration added to the list of records. Your domain should now be configured for Easol.
Note: It can take up to four hours for the domain to propagate across the internet. You can check on the status of the update around the world using this tool.
Set up domain forwarding
If you’re using a “www” domain, we recommend redirecting any traffic going to the non “www” domain (sometimes called the apex or naked domain) to your website at www.yourdomain.com. This can be done using a service such as NakedSSL (paid) or Redirect.Pizza (free) for a simple way to handle both http and https traffic.
Note: GoDaddy allows you to set up 301 redirects on https, however, these do not provide SSL for the root domain and will not work successfully.
Add your domain to Easol
Log in to your Easol admin dashboard and go to My site > Site Settings > Domain. Enter your domain name (www.yourdomain.com) under Custom Domain. Do not include the https prefix. Click Save to publish changes.
Note that a free SSL certificate will be applied automatically.
