How to Reconcile Payouts on Easol
Understanding how your sales translate into payouts can feel complex, but Easol provides three core reports to help you get a clear picture of your finances. Here’s a guide to using them together to reconcile your payouts.
Reports You’ll Use
1. Sales Report
This report shows all sales of your Easol inventory. For each line item sold, you'll see:
- The price it was sold for (Total)
- Payments made toward that item (Received) — both online and off-platform
- Any refunds (Refunded)
- The net value after payments and refunds (Net payments)
2. Account Transactions Report
This report reflects all actual transactions made on your Easol account, including:
- Payments processed through Easol
- Refunds issued via Easol
- Internal money movements (e.g. reallocations between products)
Note: This report does not include off-platform payments since those don’t flow through your Easol account.
3. Attempted and Completed Payments Report
This report includes all payment attempts — whether processed on Easol or registered manually (e.g., bank transfers). You can filter by the “Payment type” column to view just off-platform payments.
How Easol Calculates Payouts
Easol’s fees are applied only to actual transactions, so you won't be charged on off-platform payments. What you receive in payouts is based on:
Total of the Amount column in the Transactions report – Easol fees (also listed in the same report) – any applicable reserves, pending refunds, or disputes
How to Reconcile Sales to Payouts
To cross-check your sales with your payouts, use the following formula:
Total of the Amount column in the Transactions report = Total of Net Payments in the Sales report – Off-platform payments
This formula should get you very close to a zero balance. A small variance (usually a few pence or cents) may occur due to rounding, as Easol rounds values to two decimal places.
Example (for illustration only)
Net Payments in Sales report: £10,000 – Off-platform payments: £500 = £9,500 (should match the total Amount in the Transactions report)
