Scanning devices for check-in
There are three types of devices that you can use to scan tickets and check in guests at your event:
- Scanners – You can rent scanners (subject to timing and availability) that are used for the sole purpose of scanning tickets with the Easols ticketing management app, Qflow.
- Mobile phones – Qflow is available for iOS and Android phones. They must have a functioning camera to scan tickets.
- Tablets – Qflow is available for iOS and Android tablets. They must have a functioning camera to scan tickets.
You can download the app from the App stores on iOS and Android. You can also use Qflow on your desktop computer to manually check in guests.
What’s the difference between using scanners and mobile phones/tablets for checking in guests?
Scanners, mobile phones and tablets can be used to check-in guests via Qflow. There is no difference in check-in functionality, however, team members who use mobile phones or tablets to check-in will have access to all customer data. The battery life of scanners also lasts much longer.
We recommend scanners for large events where device battery life and customer data is a concern.
How much do scanners cost?
Renting scanners from Easol may be subject to a charge. You will need to pay shipping fees, including taxes, for receiving and returning scanners Please read our terms and conditions for renting scanners before requesting them.
Do I need an internet connection to scan and check in tickets?
Nope! As long as you set up your devices for check-in ahead of the event on an internet connection, all tickets will be downloaded onto your device and you can scan in guests without an internet connection. However, if any guests are added to the ticket list after setting up your device, you’ll need an internet connection to download the latest guest data.
