Using the block library

Blocks are sections of customisable content, such as text, image and video blocks, that you can use to build out pages of your website.

Each website theme has their own set of blocks in a block library. This means, your chosen theme determines what kinds of blocks you can use to build your website pages. To see an example, here’s the block library for the Alchemist theme.

How to add blocks to pages

1. Go to Site, choose the site version you'd like to update.
2. Select an existing page or click Create new page and give your page a title.
3. Place your cursor over the preview where you'd like to add a new block and click Add Block.
4. Select a block from the block library.
5. In the sidebar, fill in the block's fields.
6. Preview changes instantly. 
7. To continue building out your page, click Add Block above or below your existing block in the live preview. 
8. Hit Save to publish changes.

Note: All fields are optional — feel free to leave fields blank to customise the content, layout and design of the blocks.

How to duplicate blocks

1. Go to Site and choose the site version you'd like to update.
2. Select the page where your block is.
3. Place your cursor over the block you want to duplicate in the preview and click the copy icon.
4. Edit the fields in the sidebar.
5. Hit Save to publish changes.

How to rearrange blocks on pages

1. Go to Site and choose the site version you'd like to update.
2. Select the page where your block is.
3. Place your cursor over the block you wish to move in the preview.
4. Click the up arrow icon to move the block up or the down arrow icon to move the block down.
5. Hit Save to publish changes.

How to remove blocks

1. Go to Site and choose the site version you'd like to update.
2. Select the page where your block is.
3. Place your cursor over the block you wish to remove in the preview.
4. Click the bin icon and click Ok to confirm.

Note: This action cannot be undone. You will need to add a new block and re-enter your content if you wish to revert your page block back.

How to temporarily hide blocks

1. Go to Site and choose the site version you'd like to update.
2. Select the page where your block is.
3. Place your cursor over the block you wish to hide.
4. Click the eye icon. The hidden block will now be marked in red.
5. To unhide the block, click the eye icon again.

The block will now be hidden from your page. To display the block again, uncheck the Hide this block field.
