How pricing rules work
Pricing rules let you set different prices for different times, days, or seasons—without needing to manually change each available date and time.
What are pricing rules?
When you run a multi-date experience, you usually set one price per variant, which applies to all available dates and times by default.
But what if you want to charge more on weekends or less in off-peak hours? That’s where pricing rules come in. Pricing rules allow you to set prices based on specific date/time patterns or seasonal periods, so you can automate your pricing strategy at scale.
Why pricing rules exist
Manually changing prices for lots of available dates and times can be time-consuming—especially if you run experiences frequently or year-round.
Pricing rules make it easy to:
- Set different prices for peak and off-peak times
- Schedule pricing changes in advance
- Experiment with different pricing strategies
How pricing rules work
When you set up an experience with multiple dates and times:
- The original variant price becomes your default rule.
- You can then create additional pricing rules for specific time periods or recurring patterns.
- Each rule has trigger conditions (e.g. date range, day of week, time of day).

1. Annual pricing
Set different prices for different times of year:

You can set flexible pricing using overlapping rules—but order matters.

4. Nested pricing for term breaks
Overlapping rules allow you to keep seasonal pricing uninterrupted while adding short-term pricing for holidays or special periods.

Things to note / Useful tips
- ✅ Works with all experience variants – You can apply pricing rules to any experience that uses multi-date scheduling. (Note: accommodations use a separate per-night pricing system.)
- ✅ Each pricing rule supports one trigger condition – If you want to apply multiple triggers (e.g. specific date range and specific days of the week), simply create multiple rules to cover each condition.
- ✅ Use continuous date ranges – Trigger conditions work best with a single, continuous time period. To apply rules to non-contiguous dates (e.g. school holidays or special events), create separate pricing rules for each distinct period.
- ✅ Flexible pattern matching – You can define patterns based on days of the week and times of day (e.g. Fridays and Saturdays from 14:00–18:00). For more specific seasonal pricing (e.g. months of the year), use date-based ranges to cover those periods.
By combining date ranges and time/day patterns, and ordering your rules carefully, you can create highly flexible and powerful pricing setups for your experiences.
