Add and remove items on a booking
You can add and remove items from a customer booking directly in your admin per a customer’s request. Note that booking edits have been built with efficiency in mind, so you can make multiple edits (add/remove items, apply discounts and edit guest fields) in one update.
How to add items to a customer booking
- Go to Bookings > All Bookings in your dashboard and select the Booking Reference of the booking you want to edit.
- Click Actions and select Edit.
- Next, click Add item, use the search bar to find and select the relevant experience or accommodation, choose a variant or extra, and then hit Add on the item.
- Note: There will be a warning message if an item is sold out, however, you will still be able to add the item to the customer booking. Please take caution to prevent overselling items.
- Review the new item’s details.
- For items using per unit variants, set the adult count.
- For accommodations, set the start and end dates of the stay.
- Enter Guest Fields (if enabled), or duplicate an existing guest’s details from another item in the booking.
- Make modifier selections (if switched on). Any modifiers with prices will be added to the total booking price.
- Click Confirm and the new item will be added to the edit page under New Items. To undo this edit, simply click Remove on the new item.
- On the edit screen, you can also apply a discount, edit guest fields, edit the price or duration of a Variant, and change modifier selections.
- Once you’re happy with the booking edit, click Update booking. You also have the option to resend a booking confirmation email to the customer (recommended).
The new item has now been added to the customer booking and the change will be recorded in the booking timeline.
If this change creates a pending payment status, you can copy and send the Payment Link to the customer so that they can easily log in to their account and pay the balance online. Alternatively, you can add new items for free by applying a discount.
How to remove items from a customer booking
- Go to Bookings > All Bookings in your dashboard and select the Booking Reference of the booking you want to edit.
- Click Actions and select Edit.
- Next, locate the item on the edit page that needs to be deleted and click Remove. To undo this edit, simply click Restore on the removed item.
- On the edit screen, you can also apply a discount, edit guest fields, and change modifier selections.
- Once you’re happy with the booking edit, click Update booking. You also have the option to resend a booking confirmation email to the customer (recommended).
The item has now been removed from the customer booking and the change will be recorded in the booking timeline.
You can now request a refund to resolve the overpaid booking.
