Manage custom booking data
Booking data allows you to create bespoke data fields to expand on booking information. These will appear, and are able to be completed, in every booking.
Any member of your team can create a custom booking field, however, only team members with the permission to amend, cancel, and refund bookings are able to complete the custom fields within a booking. Team members with the view all bookings permission are able to view custom fields data but not complete them.
Custom Booking Data will appear in the Bookings report in your dashboard. These fields are not filterable, but they are sortable.
How to add a custom booking field
- Go to Settings > Custom Data > Booking.
- Click Add custom field.
- Add a Display name.
- (Optional) Add a Reference label for internal purposes.
- (Optional) Add hint text to provide some guidance or useful links on how to answer this field.
- Next, choose a Select question type: open text, multiple choice single-select, date, date and time, checkbox.
- Click Save.
The custom booking field is now ready and will be visible on every booking in your dashboard.
Note: Only the first three custom fields will appear in the booking, with the ability to expand to view all of the custom fields.
How to edit a custom booking field
After saving a booking field, you can edit the question, reference label, and hint text. If you'd like to change the question type, it's recommended to create a new custom field.
To edit a booking field:
- Go to Settings > Custom Data > Booking.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the question you'd like to update and select Edit.
- Make your edits.
- Click Save to publish changes.
